HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – The Colorado State women's golf team took home championship honors this weekend as the Rams recorded a first place finish at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate with a team score of four-under 860. CSU finished each of the three rounds under par to record an 860 team score, which is the second lowest three-round score in program history. The first place finish was also the first time since the 2009-10 season when the Rams tied for first at the MountianView Invitational, March 26-27, 2010.

Colorado State also took home individual honors as Ellen Secor carded a three-under 213 for her first collegiate win. The junior recorded an even 72 the first round before working her way up the leaderboard in round two with a two-under 70 before finishing the weekend with a one-under 71. Secor started the final day making the turn two-over even, but inked four birdies on the back course to earn the championship.

Katrina Prendergast followed with a second place finish after working down to a two-under at the turn before finishing the back course at even par. Saga Traustadottir wasn't far behind as the freshman earned her first top-five collegiate finish with a one-over 73 on the final day. For the three days, she carded an even 216.

QUOTES
Head Coach Laura Cilek
"Coach Byrd and I could not be more proud of our team. We have worked hard on course management, being patient and playing with confidence. We went out and won in all of those areas this week. Winning a college golf tournament is no easy feat and neither is finishing under par. This group came out and made a statement this weekend and it was fun to watch them succeed. Seeing Ellen Secor get her first collegiate win was also great to see and we're excited for her."
