Joe Parker: AD Statement

Dear Rams,

Thank you for your support during a very challenging football season. It has been a disappointing and frustrating experience for everyone associated with the program, especially for the student-athletes and coaches.

We all agree the 2018 campaign's outcome is not acceptable. Our mission to excel was not achieved by the on-field results. The shortfalls will be remedied to ensure future performances demonstrate excellence. Winning is important, it is our expectation and we will do it in the right way, with integrity.

I am confident in the leadership of our football program. Coach Bobo and his staff share values consistent with all Rams – an unwavering focus on principled behavior, a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality, a deep desire to serve others, an innovative mindset, and an enduring pride and passion to represent CSU – and they share an absolute expectation of winning on the field.

As with every team and every season, we are committed to pursuing every pathway to enhance our ability to generate wins and seek championships. Coach Bobo and I will sit down to discuss plans to get better and implement improvements.

Winning and sustained success for our football program is a derivative of a complex ecosystem. It obviously requires Coach Bobo and his staff do their jobs; assembling a competitive team and preparing each member in all aspects of being a successful student-athlete. It also depends upon every Ram engaging in the effort to construct a championship program; providing support even, and especially, when facing adversity.

Every element of this ecosystem is intertwined, indelibly linked together; the overall program is the ultimate winner when everyone commits to the process by locking arms as we move forward. One absolute certainty – Rams take care of Rams. Difficult, unfulfilling seasons are overcome when both the team and the team behind the team exercise resiliency and commit to each other.

As the football program transitions into the off-season and begins preparation for the 2019 campaign, I encourage YOU to LEAN IN and REMAIN ENGAGED in EVERY WAY. With your stalwart support, we will move through the adversity toward a bright future and continue our pursuit of excellence.

Go Rams!
