CSU set to travel to USAFA for tri-meet
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Colorado State swimming & diving team is headed to the Cadet Natatorium in USAFA, Colo., for a tri-meet against a pair of league foes tomorrow. CSU will compete against Air Force and New Mexico and the meet is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. MT tomorrow.
The entire meet will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.
CSU is coming off a showing at the Phill Hansel Invite (Nov. 16-18) in Houston. The Rams rallied on the final day of the meet, led by a record-breaking performance from sophomore Maddie Ward, to propel to a sixth-place finish in the 12-team meet.
"We're trying to evaluate our athletes coming off of a big invite," head coach Woody Woodard said. "We didn't rest a ton, but we still performed pretty well. We know that coming into the Thanksgiving holiday and then facing a conference foe, it can be a tough rebound, especially with a lot of our athletes missing time being sick or injured. If we are able to rebound well, it shows us that we are capable of overcoming a dip in performance to climb back up and compete at a high level."
The meet will feature 16 events -- 14 swimming and two diving:
200 Medley Relay
1000 Free
200 Free
100 Back
100 Breast
200 Fly
50 Free
1m Diving
