Rams junior Amelia Harvey becomes No. 4 long jump performer on CSU’s all-time indoor list, moves to 12th on CSU’s all-time pentathlon list

GOLDEN, Colo. – Junior Amelia Harvey of the Colorado State track & field team moved up to fourth in the long jump and 11th in the pentathlon on CSU's all-time indoor list with performances on day one of the Mines Alumni Classic & Multi on Thursday. The meet is hosted by the Colorado School of Mines from Steinhauer Fieldhouse.

Harvey's mark in the long jump was 19-7.5 (5.98m), the best of any of the 23 pentathletes in competition on Thursday. That mark propelled her to her a score of 3,605, a personal best by over 350 points. The junior from Colorado Springs, Colo., finished no lower than 10th in any other event, including a fourth-place finish and time of 8.99 in the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles. Harvey's score was good for fourth in the pentathlon.

Harvey was one of four Rams that finished among the top nine pentathletes at Mines, along with senior Gabby Smith (sixth – 3,504 points), freshman Lexie Keller (eighth – 3,493 points) and junior Aria Tate (ninth – 3,389 points). Smith joined Harvey with a first-place finish in a heptathlon event, topping the shot put field with a mark of 37-9.5 (11.52m). Keller finished among the pentathlon's top five in the high jump (5-5.75/1.67m) and shot put (34-2.25/10.42m), while Tate was top-five among pentathletes in the 60-meter hurdles (8.96) and the long jump (18-5/5.61m).

Keller's score of 3,493 ranks 16th on CSU's all-time indoor list, while Tate's long jump mark of 18-5 (5.61m) makes her CSU's No. 17 all-time indoor performer in the event. Additionally, Tate's 60-meter hurdles time of 8.96 was one hundredth of a second shy of CSU's all-time top-20 performers.

Outside of multi-event competition, sophomore Marlee Brown leapt 18-9 (5.71m) in the long jump to move up to 11th on CSU's all-time indoor list in the event. On the men's side, freshman Cory Taylor debuted with a long jump mark of 23-6 (7.16m), which ranks 17th on CSU's all-time indoor list.

NOTES
- Freshman Lexie Keller and junior Aria Tate each completed the first pentathlon of their respective collegiate careers.
- Sophomore Nia Powdrell competed unattached for Colorado State on Thursday in the long jump. Because she was unattached, her mark of 20-4.25 (6.20m) does not count as an official mark. However, the only Ram to ever register a better long jump mark was Janay DeLoach (21-0.75).
- Redshirt senior Nick Kravec is currently competing unattached for CSU in the heptathlon, and leads the competition with 3,283 points.
