LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Colorado State women's golf team finished the Gold Rush in third place, after carding a team 12-over par 300 in the final round of the 36-hole tournament. Ellen Secor finished the two-day event in second place, finishing round three with a two-over par 74.

Secor started the day carding her lone birdie of the round on the fourth hole, but recorded bogies on the fifth, eighth and 10th holes. She played consistently through the back course, finishing with eight pars.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Colorado State women's golf team finished the first day of the Gold Rush in second place after shooting a 16-over par 297-295--592. The Rams are just one stroke behind leader Georgia, who carded a 15-over par 296-295--591 on the day. Ellen Secor paces all golfers after carding a 71 in round one and a 70 in round two to finish the day three-under par 141.

The Rams finished the first round of the Gold Rush in fifth place with a nine-over par 297. Ellen Secor led Colorado State and was tied for first in the tournament with a one-under par 71. The sophomore had five birdies in the opening round.

Katrina Prendergast and Haley Greb followed Secor tied for 21st overall with a three-over par 75. Prendergast started the day on hole four and played well, dropping her score to three-under par in the back nine. But the final three holes of the round tripped her up, finishing the first round three over.

In the second round of the day, Colorado State moved up three spots to finish the day in second place. Ellen Secor continued her consistent play in the afternoon as the sophomore started on the fifth hole and headed to the back nine one-under. She continued to meet par on the back nine and finished the day with her second birdie of the round on hole four.

Katrina Prendergast and Jessica Sloot followed Secor, both tied for 15th carding 150. Prendergast recorded a three-over par 75 in the second round, while Sloot came in with a two-over 74.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State women's golf team begins its second half of its 2017-18 season at the Gold Rush in Long Beach, Calif. All three rounds will be played at the El Dorado Park Golf Course, with rounds one and two played on Monday, Feb. 12 and the final round on Tuesday, Feb. 13. El Dorado is a Par 72 and plays 6,189 yards.

FORMAT
Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

There will be a shotgun start at 8:45 am MT on Monday with 36 holes of continuous play and tee times off the first and 10th holes beginning at 8:45 am MTÂÂ on Tuesday.

TWO RAMS QUALIFY FOR U.S. WOMEN'S AMATEUR… AGAIN
For the second consecutive year, teammates Katrina Prendergast and Ellen Secor qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship. A year after earning medalists honors at the Ranch CC, Prendergast and Secor repeated in that role, this time by shooting a best-ball six-under par 66 on Oct. 3 at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve in Westminster, Colo. The 2018 U.S. Women's Four-Ball will be held April 28-May 2 at El Caballero CC in Tarzana, Calif. It will be the third straight trip to the national Women's Four-Ball for Secor and second for Prendergast.
