Colorado State heads to Northern Colorado for Tuesday tilt

THE WEEK
• Colorado State will head to Greeley, Colo., to face Northern Colorado on Tuesday, Aug. 28 staring at 7 p.m., in Bank of Colorado Arena.
• The Rams will enter Tuesday's match with a 1-1 record after opening their season last weekend splitting matches with Illinois and UNC Wilmington.
• Colorado State has faced Northern Colorado 28 times, holding a 22-6 record.
• Tuesday's match will be streamed on Pluto TV.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
• Following the Tuesday match, the Rams will return to Moby Arena for a busy weekend hosting Florida State, TCU and Cincinnati.
• The Rams will face Cincinnati on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m., and Florida State that evening starting at 7:30 p.m. CSU will conclude the weekend playing TCU on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
 
NORTHERN COLORADO AT A QUICK GLANCE
• Northern Colorado starts the season 1-1 after sweeping past UNC Wilmington, before falling to No. 12 Illinois in five sets.
• UNC took the first set before Illinois responded winning sets two and three. The Bears forced a fifth set, but was unable to take advantage of 5-0 and 11-8 leads, as Illinois closed the match out with a 7-2 run.
• Kortney Lockey and Taylor Muff recorded the first double-doubles of the season for UNC against Illinois. Lockey leads the team in kills with 29 and is second in digs with 14, while Muff has totaled 20 kills and 15 digs.

RAMS AT A GLANCE
• Colorado State remains at No. 25 in this week's AVCA Poll. The Rams were ranked No. 25 in the preseason poll announced on August 8.
• Breana Runnels led the Rams against No. 12 Illinois, recording a double-double with 17 kills and 13 digs, while adding three blocks.
• Runnels leads the offense with 22 kills, while Kirstie Hillyer and Paulina Hougaard-Jensen follow with 18 kills apiece.
• Hougaard-Jensen leads the squad in hitting percentage with a .275 mark.
• Katie Oleksak continues to pace the offense with 79 digs and a nine assist per set average.
• Hillyer controls the net with 13 total blocks and a 1.62 block/set average.
• Amanda Young leads the back row with 29 digs and a 3.62 dig/set average.

LAST TIME
• The two teams played each other in 2017 in Fort Collins, with CSU coming away with a sweep.
• The Rams outhit the Bears, .403 to .140, while also holding a 7-2 block advantage.
• Kirstie Hillyer and Breana Runnels led CSU with nine kills each, while Hillyer hit a blistering .615.
• Paulina Hougaard-Jensen added three blocks in addition to Hillyer and Runnels both having three stuffs apiece.
• CSU last loss came back in 1982 in Greeley.
• The Rams have won 17-consecutive matches dating back to 1982. Of those 17 matches, CSU has swept the Bears 12 times.
 
LAST WEEKEND
• The Rams began their opening weekend splitting matches with No. 12 Illinois and UNC Wilmington.
• CSU opened the season with Illinois and set a new attendance record at 7,745 fans crowding into Moby Arena.
• Colorado State recorded its first sweep of the season against the Seahawks on Saturday morning.
