Coach Camerota looking to build off early success

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – In the course of five days in Las Vegas, Colorado State's women's tennis team will bring the fall schedule to a close, with the Rams looking to build off some early positive results.

The Rams opened the fall season with tournaments in three successive weekends, then had three weeks off to prepare for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Regional Championships at the Fatitta Tennis Complex.

"We've had a chance to work on our strength in the weight room, and had a chance to work on some more tactical things in doubles and singles," CSU coach Jarod Camerota said. "Now we're looking forward to a good showing."

Emily Luetschwager is 8-1 on the year in singles, while Priscilla Palermo sits at 8-1, Stella Cliffe at 6-3. That trio has also had success in doubles play, with Cliffe and Luetschwager 4-2, Palermo teaming with Alyssa Grijalva to post a 5-1 mark.

"We feel good about our doubles teams at the moment," Camerota said. "They can always change as the spring semester goes, but we feel good about the way they're playing.

"I think Emily and Priscilla have been working hard, and I think they're due for a good regional tournament."

The tournament begins Oct. 23 and runs through Oct. 27, and after seeing a few teams multiple times in the early going, Camerota is looking forward to his team seeing a new batch of teams in the field.

After regionals, the Rams won't play again until a tournament at Denver University beginning January 10, 2020.
