Next on the Tee: Colorado State, ranked #15 by Golfweek rankings and #20 according to Golfstat, is wrapping up its fall slate on the West Coast, playing in the Saint Mary's Invitational, Nov. 4-6. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at the famed Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Fast Five On the Saint Mary's Invitational:

This is the third time overall and third year in a row that CSU is competing in the prestigious 54-hole tournament, having finished fifth last year and third in 2017-18, both placings helping propel the Rams to NCAA Regional berths.
Of the 16 teams in this year's field, 12 are ranked in Golfweek's top 100 teams and 13 were represented in the 2019 NCAA Regionals with eight teams (CSU, Saint Mary's, Arizona, BYU, New Mexico, Oregon, Oregon State & UNC Wilmington) and five schools with individuals (Coastal Carolina, Fresno State, San Francisco, Toledo & Utah).
The Rams finished fifth out of 18 teams in last year's event, with all four ahead of CSU eventually qualifying for postseason play and a total of 10 from the tournament making NCAA Regionals.
CSU posted a 5-under 279 in the final round, its best round of the tournament and one of just three under-par rounds on the last day.
Poppy Hills hosted the 1991 NCAA Men's Golf Championships and was re-done by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in 2014.

Lineup for the Saint Mary's Invitational: The 20th-ranked Rams, according to Golfstat, are in the traditional play-five, count-four event this week at Poppy Hills Golf Club. For CSU, the lineup will be:

Last Time Out Highlights at Jerry Pate National:

This was the 10th tournament win under eighth-year head coach Christian Newton. It was also the second consecutive year and third time under his direction that the team has won at least two tournaments in a year.
The 823 team total tied for the fourth lowest team total and the 17-under tied for 10th versus par.
CSU's 269 in the second round is the ninth-best team total in program history.
Junior Parathakorn Suyasri won the 29th individual tournament title since 1992-93
Suyasri finished at 11-under 199, the sixth lowest 54-hole total in program history, while his 11-under finish was tied for 11th in CSU annals.
Senior AJ Ott posted his ninth career top-10 finish, while sophomore Davis Bryant had his ninth top-20 finish in just 16 collegiate events.

Tap-In Putts On CSU:

Through three tournaments, the Rams are 6-2 against schools from the Southeastern Conference (SEC), all of which played in the 2019 Regionals. CSU is also 1-1-1 against the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Over the last three years, CSU has a 35-30-1 record against the Pac-12 and now 8-0 versus Big Ten schools.
Sophomore Davis Bryant has posted par or better scores in his last five rounds.
Junior AJ Ott has played six of his nine rounds at par or better this year, all of them coming in the first and secound rounds of the three events.
After a slow start in the opening tournament, junior Parathakorn Suyasri has finished in the top five of his next two tournaments.
