FORT COLLINS, Colo. – For the first road trip of the season, the Colorado State women's basketball team will travel 30 miles southeast to Northern Colorado for a Friday 6 p.m. MT tip at Bank of Colorado Arena.

Coach's Corner
-Head Coach Ryun Williams picked up a win to start his eighth year at the helm – the winningest coach in CSU history (145-80, .644 overall record)

On game two…
"We have always had very competitive games in Northern Colorado. They are well coached, and it is always a tough trip, although it is a short trip. It is a good test for our team early on in the season."

Off The Tip
- After finishing the 2018-19 season with an 8-22 record, the Rams tout a new-look squad - on the court - for 2019-20. Eleven student-athletes return from last year's roster, however five of those student-athletes redshirted for injury or transfer rules.

- For the season opener, the Rams defeated Chadron State Eagles 102-51 in front of over 2,500 kids from the nearby Poudre School District. The scoring output marked the most points scored in the Ryun Williams era, besting two triple-digit finishes in 2013-14. Williams improved to 5-3 in season openers and CSU upped its mark to 29-17 in game ones. Seven total Rams made their debut in the green and gold and all 13 Rams that played scored.

- The Rams travel to Greeley, Colo., for CSU's closest crosstown institution. Northern Colorado is coming off of a season opening 90-83 loss at home to San Francisco of the West Coast Conference. Last season, the Bears went 21-11 overall and 15-5 in the Big Sky Conference for a second-place finish. NC lost in the semifinals of its conference tournament and then fell to Wyoming in the opening round of the WNIT.

• The Bears defeated the Rams last season 53-47 in Fort Collins with three double-digit scorers, but only Alexis Chapman who put up 13 points is on NC's 2019-20 roster. On the Rams' side, Lore Devos had 14 points and seven rebounds - both team highs. More on the previous matchup/series on page 9 of the game notes.

A Colorado State Win on Friday Would Mean…
- The Rams' first 2-0 start since 2015-16 when CSU defeated Western State and Incarnate Word to begin the season.
- Halt the Bears' win streak against the Rams at one. Colorado State had won the previous three games in the series.
- It would put CSU on top in the series when played in Greeley at 9-8, including three straight wins in Bank of Colorado Arena.

Scouting Northern Colorado Bears
- In the season opener, the Bears were outscored 31-20 in the fourth quarter, including 16 points from the free throw line by the Dons. In all, San Franscico went to the foul line 42 times. Additionally, the Bears chucked up 24 shots behind the arc. Lastly, Five Bears made their debut in the opener.
- Last season, the Bears had a +4.0 scoring margin and a +3.4 rebounding margin, but a -0.1 turnover margin.
- From last year's squad, the Bears return three starters and three other letterwinners, while losing two and three, respectively. They trot out six newcomers for the 2019-20 campaign.
- Northern Colorado lost their leading scorer from last season, Savannah Smith (22.8 ppg), but return their leading rebounder, Ali Meyer, (10.9 rpg).
