PUERTO VALLARTA, Mex., – The Colorado State women's golf team finished the first round of the Hawkeye El Tigre Invite on Thursday afternoon tied for ninth with a 20-over 308. Katrina Prendergast leads the team, carding a three-over 75 to be tied for 21st.

All five Rams started on the back course as Sloot marked a team-low on the first nine with a one-under 35. Prendergast followed shooting even par to start. On the front, Sloot finished with three pars and a birdie to tally a four-over 76. Prendergast signed off the round with a three-over 75 to pace the Rams. Sloot led the team with four birdies during the round, while also making par on eight holes.

Ellen Secor followed, recording a four-over 76 and tied for 26th after the opening round. Secor marked two birdies and 11 pars for the round – a team high.
