RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Ellen Secor and Jessica Sloot led the Colorado State women's golf team after the first day of the Mountain West Championship. Secor carded a five-over 77 to sit tied for 15th, while Sloot followed with a six-over 78 and tied for 17th.
Secor started the day making par on the first five holes and made the turn at three-over. On the back she marked her first birdie of the day on the 12th hole before finishing the day with a 77. Sloot inked a team-high three birdies during her round, including making par on eight holes.
Saga Traustadottir and Fiona Hebbel followed the pair, finishing the first round tied for 37th with each recording 11-over 83s.
