Luetschwager and Cliffe earn singles accolades, while Cliffe and Kolbow were recognized in doubles

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State was recognized for its solid play during the 2018-19 season, as sophomore Emily Luetschwager and junior Stella Cliffe were recognized as All-Mountain West in singles and Cliffe and senior Emily Kolbow were selected in doubles, the league announced. The awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Luetschwager and Cliffe are the 12th and 13th Rams recognized for their play in singles since the formation of the Mountain West in 1999-2000, also marking the first time since 2015 that a Ram earned the honor and the first time that two CSU players were honored in a single season. Cliffe and Kolbow are just the fourth doubles duo to earn All-Conference accolades and the first since 2008. It also is the first time since 2008 that CSU has earned multiple honors, the second time in school history and the first time that three different players have earned accolades.

"I am so proud of these three ladies for their hard work this year to earn this recognition," head coach Jarod Camerota said. "They have been keys for our success this season, and I am happy that the coaches respected their accomplishments this year. They deserve it."

Luetschwager has a 17-11 overall record and 10-8 in duals, as she has played at No. 1 the entire spring season for the Rams. She earned her first victory over a ranked opponent this year when she beat Vasanti Shinde of Nebraska, who was ranked 103rd, in a three-set match. She also got league wins at Boise State and at Utah State during the season.

Cliffe has had the best overall mark for CSU this year, going 22-8 overall and 12-6 in dual matches, including a 3-2 record in Mountain West play, with all but one at No. 2. She got a straight-set win over UNLV's Izumi Asano, who was ranked 118th at the time. She also picked up league victories at Boise State and at Utah State during the season.

The duo of Cliffe and Kolbow are 11-5 on the season, with an 8-5 record in duals and 3-2 in regular-season league action, playing all but one Mountain West match at No. 1. Clifffe and Kolbow earned a victory at UNLV at No. 2 and also picked up doubles wins over New Mexico ant at Utah State prior to yesterday's win in the opening round of the Mountain West Championship against Nevada.

The Rams continue their run in the Mountain West Championship today in the quarterfinals against San Diego State.
