Lordemann Nets Goal in Double Overtime for 1-0 Win at Grand Canyon

Rams Win in Double Overtime
PHOENIX, ARIZ. – After 105 minutes of scoreless play, senior captain Caeley Lordemann sank the game winning goal for the Rams in double overtime at 1-0 Sunday night at the GCU Soccer Field.
This was the Rams second all-time win over the Lopes, tying the series record between Colorado State and Grand Canyon at 2-2.
Both teams were nearly even in shots on the net, Grand Canyon having seven shots on goal and Colorado State with six. Sophomore goalkeeper Gabi McDonald was nails in the net once again, booking seven saves on the night.
While the Rams struggled offensively during regulation play, their tenacity paid off in the final five minutes. Junior forward Ally Murphy-Pauletto drove down the right side of the field, pushed past the defender, and volleyed the ball over to Lordemann for the goal. With the score, Lordemann has notched four goals on the season, putting her one away from tying her season high.
Colorado State improved to 3-1-1, marking the best start in program history and will be returning home to take on Denver next Friday, Sept. 13.
