Rams Wrap Up Air Force Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. β The Colorado State track and field teams added three events wins and eight personal records Saturday in the final day of the Air Force Invitational at the Cadet Field House.

Over the three-day meet, the Rams totaled seven event wins and 21 PRs.

The women's side had three of the four wins on Saturday.Β Briyana Bunson had a sizeable cushion edged against second-place's Eriana Henderson of Colorado by 1.1 seconds to win the 60-meter dash at 7.55. Lastly, competing unattached Lauren Gale maintained her first-place preliminary run with an event win in the 400 meters at a time of 55.42.

A day after obtaining a big PR in the weight throw, freshman Mariano Kis threw a 54'9.50'' shot put for a new PR and to lead a trio of Rams on the podium that included Jackson Morris and Beau Gordon, respectively.

The most notable PR of the day came from Andrew Doctor in the 60-meter hurdles. The sophomore from Colorado Springs clocked an 8.02 to move from a share of 12th place (8.09) on CSU's all-time list to eighth place. In the same race, Germain Barnes improved his best by a .01 fraction to now be in a tie for 15th on the all-time list.

Rounding out the PRs on the men's side was Shane Gates and Ryan Blake in the high jump, while Elijah Weetman did so in the 400 meters.

In the women's pole vault, Josie Spitz recorded her best score of the season at 12'7.50'' and Lauren Jarossy further down the list made a new PR. Jasmine Chesson followed Bunson in the 60m for a PR of 7.74.

Next, the Rams will be in action at the Colorado Invitational at the end of the month, starting Jan. 31st and going through the first of February.
