BOULDER, Colo. – Three Ram first-place finishes highlight the Colorado State track and field teams Friday during day two of the Colorado Invitational inside the Indoor Practice Facility.
The jumps started the day's action and two of those Ram wins came from the long jump. Aria Tate jumped 19'1.25'' to match her career-best mark that she set earlier this season at the UCCS Invitational. The measure stands fifth in the Mountain West and is her second win in the long jump this season. Nia Powdrell joined Tate with a third-place finish.
Isa Bynum won the men's side with a 23'3.50'', marking his fourth victory in the event this season.
The last first-place Ram occurred in the women's weight throw to Ashton Hallsted although competing unattached. It is her sixth win in the season for the weight throw. Tarynn Sieg and Haley Showalter completed the 1-2-3 Ram finish in the event. In the men's weight throw, Beau Gordon took third place with his second-best throw of the season at 56'8''.
Tate paired her long jump victory with a second-place high jump showing. Right behind her in third place was Jordan Lanning with a new personal record by a quarter of an inch. On the men's side, Eric Lundgren and Shane Gates tied for third at 6'2.25''.
The seeded mile concluded the day for CSU. Jacob Brueckman clocked a personal-best 4:12.60, which after it is converted for altitude, will check in as the best time in conference this season. Three Rams finished in the top-5 in the women's race led by Ali Kallner in third place at 4:57.66.
The final day of competition consists of the shot put and all the remaining running events with a 11 a.m. start.
