CSU Has A Pair of Top-20 Individual Finishes As Rams Finish 11th at Ron Moore

Minier, Bergsdottir tie for 20th in the third tournament of the year
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo.  – Buoyed by a pair of top-20 individuals, Colorado State improved from the second to third round and finished 11th at the 2021 Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate Sunday. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of Denver, was played at University of Denver Golf Course at Highlands Ranch (Par 72 – 6,302 yards) in Highlands Ranch, Colo.

The Rams shot a 6-over 294 in the final 18 holes and finished at 21-over 885 in 11th. Cal Poly shot an 8-under 278 in the final round and took home the team title at 15-under 849, eight shots better than runner-up East Tennessee State. San Francisco was third at 1-over 865, with Grand Canyon and host Denver tied for fourth at 2-over 866.

Juniors Gabby Minier and Andrea Bergsdottir both posted top-20 finishes, as the duo tied for 20th at 2-over 218, with Minier shooting a team tournament-best 71 in the final round. For Minier it was her second top-20 finish of her career that included her second round of par or better in her CSU career. Bergsdottir picked up her second top-25 finish of the 2021-22 season. Freshman Lacey Uchida tied for 48th at 7-over 223, while freshman Pemika Arphamongkol, playing as an individual, tied for 55th at 11-over 227. Sophomore Sofia Torres was next at 13-over 229, tied for 61st, while sophomore Panchalika Arphamongkol completed the CSU effort at 19-over 235, tied for 75th. East Tennessee State's Tereza Melecka took home individual honors at 9-under 207, five shots better than a quintet of players at 4-under 212.

The Rams will return to Fort Collins to host the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Oct. 18-19 at Ptarmigan Country Club. The event is free and open to the public.
