HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo.  – In a tightly-bunched field where only nine shots separates second from 12th, Colorado State put itself in the mix as the Rams are currently ninth at the 2021 Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate through Friday's first round. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of Denver, is being played at University of Denver Golf Course at Highlands Ranch (Par 72 – 6,302 yards) in Highlands Ranch, Colo.
 
CSU shot its second-best round of the fall, posting a 4-over 292 in the first 18 holes of play. East Tennessee State is the opening round leader at 17-under 271, leading by 14 shots over host Denver in second at 3-under 285. Grand Canyon is third at 2-under 286, with San Francisco and Cal Poly tied for fourth at 1-under 287.
 
Junior Andrea Bergsdottir leads the Rams after the first round, having posted an even-par 72 and is tied for 18th. Freshman Lacey Uchida and sophomore Gabby Minier are one shot back at 1-over 73, tied for 33rd. Sophomore Sofia Torres recorded a 2-over 74 and is tied for 42nd, while sophomore Panchalika Arphamongkol shot an 8-over 80 and is tied for 80th to round out the team scoring. Playing as an individual, freshman Pemika Arphamongkol shot a 3-over 75 and is in a tie for 52nd heading into the second round. East Tennessee State's Hollie Muse is the opening round leader after shooting a 7-under 65. She leads by three shots over Alyson Bean of Denver and ETSU's Sera Hasegawa at 4-under 68.
 
The Rams will go off No. 1 for the second round, starting at 8:30 a.m. and playing with Nevada and Iowa.
