Rams Sweep Season Finale at Spartans

Colorado State swept the final series at San Jose State.
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Colorado State again went extra innings with San Jose State in the series finale, securing the victory 3-2 in 11 frames. The Rams played 31 innings with the Spartans with 13 innings in the series opener.

Colorado State put the first run on the board in the first inning after Ashley York led things off with a single before working her around to score. San Jose State tied the game in the bottom of the first after an error put a runner on before moving them around to score to tie the game.

Both teams went quiet in through the majority of the game, not scoring a run until extra frames. For the second time in the series, the Spartans and Rams went into extras. Colorado State took a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth after a double steal worked to perfection to score a run. San Jose State responded in the home half with a pair of singles to score a run to tie the game at 2-2 and to prolong the game.
