The senior leader earned her second All-Region award from the NFCA.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Tara Shadowen added another postseason honor to her name, as she was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Thursday earning third team All-Region honors in the Pacific Region. Shadowen was named to the All-Mountain West First Team earlier this month.

Shadowen was one of nine outfielders selected to the Pacific Region teams, along with four other players from the Mountain West – all from Fresno State – landing on the All-Region teams. This is the second time she was named to an All-Region team – 2019 when she was named to the first team All-Region after the Rams won their second Mountain West Championship.

The outfielder led the Rams with a .344 batting average in 2021 and registered 31 hits, including seven doubles and eight home runs. She also had 19 RBI, while slugging .689 and holding an on-base mark of .427. Shadowen started to produce during the second half of the conference schedule, recording six multiple-hit games, including three games where she had multiple extra-base hits.

Colorado State (16-20, 10-11) concluded its season last weekend with a series sweep at San Jose State, playing 31 innings in three games. The Rams finished in fifth in the Mountain West standings after being selected sixth in the Preseason Poll and missed a three-game series against Utah State due to weather. CSU also on the wrong side in five Mountain West contests that were determined by one run.
