Camerota recently concluded his fifth season as the program’s head coach
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State Director of Athletics Joe Parker announced on Friday that women's tennis coach Jarod Camerota will not return for the 2021-22 season.
Camerota recently concluded his fifth season as the program's head coach after taking over prior to the 2016-17 season. He served as the program's assistant coach during the 2015-16 season under then-head coach Jon Messick.
"I am thankful for Jarod's service to Colorado State and our student-athletes during his six seasons in Fort Collins," Parker said. "Moving forward, I believe this program will prove to be an attractive coaching opportunity. With all that Colorado State University and the city of Fort Collins have to offer, my belief is that we should compete in the upper echelon of the Mountain West each year."
In his five seasons leading the program, Camerota's teams compiled a 38-46 dual record and a 6-18 mark in Mountain West play. The Rams won 11 matches in both 2017 and 2019. In 2020, the doubles team of Stella Cliffe and Emily Luetschwager became the first set of Rams to enter the national doubles rankings, and three of his doubles teams earned All-Mountain West honors. Over his five seasons, four Rams earned All-Mountain West honors in singles.
A national search to find the next head coach of the program will begin immediately.
