Rams Continue Conference Play Hosting Wyoming, Traveling to Fresno State

Colorado State will host the first edition of the Border War on Tuesday before heading to California.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State continues Mountain West action this week hosting travel partner and Border War rival Wyoming for a Tuesday match at Moby Arena at 7 p.m., MT. The Rams will finish their week early, traveling to Fresno State for a Thursday match at 7 p.m., MT. CSU will then have the weekend off after playing four matches in a weeks' time.
 
Border War Series History
» Colorado State leads the Wyoming series 68-22 overall, including 35-8 in Moby Arena winning the last 23 contests at home dating back to 1996.
» The Rams split the two matches last season, both played in Laramie due to COVID-19.
» CSU also holds the series against Fresno State, 18-10 overall and 5-6 in Fresno.
» The Rams have won the last four matches against the Bulldogs, with their last loss coming in 2018 in Fresno.
 
Coaches
» Tom Hilbert: 25th year at Colorado State (605-147); 33rd year overall (779-219).
» Prior to coming to Colorado State, Hilbert was the head coach at Idaho from 1989-96 and accumulated a 174-72 record, which remains the best winning percentage by a coach in Idaho history. While in Moscow, he helped the Vandals win the regular season or tournament every year from 1992-95.
» Chad Callihan: Ninth year at Wyoming (152-81); 19th year overall (379-216).
» Prior to Wyoming, Callihan spent time at Georgia Southern, Appalachian State and Radford.
» Jonathan Winder: Fourth year at Fresno State (48-39); four year overall.

» Colorado State will look to continue its strong start in Mountain West play, after recording a pair of sweeps last week against Boise State and Utah State.
» The Rams finished their non-conference schedule with a 4-5 mark, earning three wins at their home tournament, before dropping a pair of matches to rival then-No. 25 Colorado.
» CSU has played three five-set matches this season, with each coming down to the final two points.
» Sophomore outside Kennedy Stanford earned Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors after the Rams swept their first two conference matches.
» Senior libero Alexa Roumeliotis earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honors after the team's 3-0 performance at home.
» In the Rams 11 matches played this season, 15 sets have been decided by two points – with just seven falling in favor of CSU.
 
Scouting Wyoming
» Wyoming started Mountain West play last week dropping two contests at home to Utah State and Boise State.
» The Cowgirls suffered a five-set match in the league opener against the Aggies before getting swept by the Broncos on Saturday.
» Wyoming is third in the conference in blocks with a 2.43 average.
» Wyoming entered conference play with an 8-4 mark from its non-conference schedule.
 
Scouting Fresno State
» Fresno State also started its Mountain West schedule 0-2, getting swept in two road matches at New Mexico and Air Force.
» The Bulldogs were 4-4 heading into conference play after facing then-No. 7 Washington, Kansas State and Loyola Chicago, dropping all three contests.
» FS picked up wins against Ohio, Montana State, UC Riverside and CSUN.

» Alexa Roumeliotis has been stellar for Colorado State in the back row, averaging 4.70 per set - the second best in the Mountain West.
» The libero has recorded double-figure digs in all 11 matches so far this season and has a 23 match-streak with double-figure digs dating back to Feb. 13, 2021.
» This season streak of 11 matches, ties her longest in a single season during her career at Colorado State, dating back to 2019 when she also had an 11-match streak with double-figure digs.
» For her career at CSU, the senior has 52 matches with 10-or-more digs.
» In her collegiate career, she has totaled 58 - recording six while at Creighton.
