CSU To Welcome Back Students, Host New Mexico For State Pride Game on Jan. 19

The Rams and Lobos will tip at 8 p.m. in Moby Arena on CBS Sports Network

• Colorado State will welcome students back to campus when it takes on New Mexico for the Rams' annual State Pride game on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. MT. CSU's uniforms for this game are in the Colorado state flag colors of blue, white, yellow and red.
• The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network with Alex Del Barrio and Tim Doyle on the call.
• The audio will be on the Colorado State Sports Radio Network (along with online at CSURams.com), with Brian Roth and Adam Nigon handling the broadcast. CSU Sports Network broadcasts can be also accessed on mobile devices through the Varsity Network app (free on all Apple and Android devices). - Returning two starters and seven letterwinners from last year's 6-16 team that finished 2-17 in league play, New Mexico was picked to tie for eighth in the preseason poll.
- New Mexico holds the lead in this series, 78-49, including 71-48 in conference play, but CSU is 36-26 at home against the Lobos.
- Last season due to COVID situations, the two teams only met once with CSU getting a resounding home win.
- Overall the 13-1 mark through 14 games is tied for second best start with the 1953-54 Aggies, who finished 22-7, 12-2 in the Skyline Conference to win the league and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
- All-time, CSU is 11-13 in games played on Jan. 19, but a solid 8-3 at home.
- CSU has a record of 579-240 (.707) record all-time at Moby Arena, including 30-5 the last 2+ years under Medved.
- This year's 8-0 record at home, follows a similar trend, and has secured a winning home record already.
- CSU is 18th nationally in fewest turnovers at 10.14 per game and 12th on assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.54.
- CSU is outscoring opponents by an average of 7.6 points per game in the second half, including five games with 50 or more in the final 20 minutes. CSU is shooting at a stellar 54.4 percent clip from the field, 38.2 percent from the arc and limiting opponents to 44.2 and 29.9, respectively, while forcing 1.4 more turnovers a game in the second half.
- The 42 points by San Jose State on Jan. 15 were the fewest by a CSU opponent since holding SJSU to 41 points at home on Jan. 17, 2015 and tied for the 17th lowest opponent total in program history.
