- Returning two starters and 12 letterwinners from last year's 5-20 team that finished at 3-17 and 10th in the Mountain West, Air Force was picked to finish 11th in the preseason poll, but already knocked off Utah State..
- Colorado State holds a very definitive 85-33 advantage in the series, including 34-18 in Colorado Springs.
- CSU won this season's earlier meeting in Moby Arena on Jan. 4, 67-59
- Overall the 14-1 mark through 15 games is tied for the best start to a season with the 1953-54 Aggies who finished 22-7, 12-2 in the Skyline Conference to win the league and advance to the NCAA Tournament, and the 2014-15 Rams, who finished 27-7 and played in the NIT.
- All-time, CSU is 11-15 in games played on Jan. 22, and just 2-9 on the road.
- While there are eight other schools ranked in the top 30 nationally in at least two of the three shooting percentages (field goal, 3-point and free throw), Colorado State is one of just two in the top 25 in all three (10th in FG, 17th in 3P FG, 4th in FT). The other is Missouri State (16th in FG, 7th in 3p, 10th in FT).

- CSU has held opponents to 63 points or less in eight of its past 13 games, including two at the Paradise Jam.
- In the last three games (all wins), Chandler Jacobs has averaged 9.7 points (3rd for CSU), 8.7 rebounds (#1 for CSU), 1.3 steals and hit all 14 free throw attempts, many of them coming in the final minutes of games.
