CSU did pick up a several wins over schools in front of them in the rankings, including Notre Dame and Mercer.
Â
CSU was led by freshman Lacey Uchida, tying for 27th at 3-over 219. Uchida posted a team season-best tying and personal season low 3-under 69 in the final round that included an eagle on the par-4 eighth hole, her 17th hole of the day. Junior Andrea Bergsdottir was one shot behind at 4-over 220 in a tie for 32nd, as she had a very consistent tournament with all three rounds at 74 or better. Junior Gabby Minier and sophomore Sofia Torres tied for 49th at 9-over 225, while sophomore Panchalika Arphamongkol tied for 73rd at 19-over 235. LSU's Ingrid Lindblad led from start to finish individually, finishing at 13-under 203 to win by five shots.
Â
"It was great to see our team compete in a tough field," head coach Laura Cilek said. "They are realizing they can play with anyone when they commit to their game plan and take it one shot at a time. Lacey had a great round today at 3-under and Andrea was steady for us all week.
Â
"This group plays hard for each other, they are eager to learn and they represent Colorado state so well," Cilek continued. "I can't wait to see them hoist a trophy and I know they will do so soon enough. We are looking forward to getting some practice in over the next week and a half and getting back out to compete in Chattanooga."
Â
The Rams will be back in action in just under two weeks, playing in the Chattanooga Classic on March 27-29 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
