Rams Face Rebels in Final Road Test

Colorado State looks to end its road troubles against UNLV
THIS WEEK
The Rams will hit the road for the final time when they take on UNLV in a three-game weekend series May 6-8. The first game of the series is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., MT with game two at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The series finale will happen on Sunday with the first pitch at 1:00 p.m. The series will be streaming on the Mountain West Network.

Colorado State comes into the weekend after sweeping a three-game series against the Nevada Wolf Pack. The Rams are 17-23 overall, 8-10 in Mountain West play. The Rebels are carrying a 13-5 conference record and sit at 35-11 overall. UNLV comes off a weekend series with New Mexico where it won all three games and scored at least 11 runs in two of the three games.

Over the series, the Rams scored 16 runs twice and nine runs to complete the sweep, leading to the Rams outscoring Nevada 41-18 for the weekend. At Ram Field this season, Colorado State has outscored their opponents 113-68 and in conference play the Rams have outscored opponents 75-39. Colorado State has been in a lot of close games and has a 4-15 record in contests decided by two or fewer runs. In the non-conference slate, the Rams have been on the wrong side nine times. Since the start of Mountain West play, CSU has been in four games which came down to just needing a timely hit. In the weekend series against the Bulldogs, the Rams came up just short in two of the three games decided by two runs or less. All three games against San Jose State were decided by two or fewer runs with the Rams producing a series sweep and the lone loss in the series against New Mexico.

Since the start of Mountain West play, the Rams' defense has committed just 12 errors, leading them to a .975 fielding percentage, which is third in the Mountain West.
