Colorado State put six runners on base, but failed to convert

LAS VEGAS – Colorado State started its final road trip of the season, suffering a 2-0 loss in game one at UNLV on Friday night. Ashley Michelena recorded two of CSU's four hits in the loss, while Ashley York and Jalyn McGuffin tailed the other two.
 
Danielle Serna started in the circle and was tagged with the loss after allowing just one earned run on four hits, while striking out seven batters. She faced 24 in the defeat, walking one and hitting one.
 
UNLV scored first after hitting a solo homer in the second inning. The Rebels added to their lead in the fourth after scoring on a fielder's choice.
 
Colorado State put runners on in every frame, except for the fourth and had runners on the corners in the second.
 
UP NEXT
Colorado State will continue action with game two against UNLV on Saturday starting at 4:00 PM MT.
