What You Need to Know
- The Rams are coming off a weekend where they split a home-and-home series with in-state rival Colorado. Battling over the Golden Spike Trophy, each team won its respective home matches with the Rams taking game one, 3-1, in Fort Collins, Thursday, and the Buffaloes winning game two in Boulder, 3-2, Friday.
- Moby Arena played host to the first ever sellout in Colorado State Volleyball history last Thursday as over 8,000 fans packed the Rams' whiteout game versus CU. The official attendance of 8,396 set records as the largest crowd in Mountain West Volleyball history, largest crowd at a collegiate volleyball match in Colorado history and serves as the current third largest crowd at a volleyball match in the NCAA this season.
- Colorado State saw a demanding non-conference pre-season facing five power-five opponents and two teams currently in the top 25. Entering into a more consistent game schedule as well as more familiar opponents, the Rams will look to capitalize on their high strength of schedule so far this season.
Series History
- In a long-standing history between the Rams and Cowgirls, CSU leads the overall matchup 69-23.
- The Border War match has taken place every year since 1976 and happened only three times at a neutral site.
- Colorado State has played Wyoming the most out of any other team in Rams program history
Home vs. Cowgirls: 36-8
Hilbert vs. Cowgirls: 45-6
Â
- The Rebels serve as another long-time opponent for the Rams. Before joining the Mountain West conference together in its 1999 inaugural season, the two teams played just six contests against each other.
- After winning eight straight from 2015 to 2019, the Rams have dropped three of the last four versus the Cowgirls.
Home vs. Rebels: 22-3
Hilbert vs. Rebels: 41-10Â

Match Notes Nuggets
- Thursday's game will serve as Colorado State's annual Orange Out game.
- Junior Naeemah Weather put out one of her best overall performances last Thursday over Colorado. The middle hitter totaled eight kills and was apart of seven blocks through the match as the Rams beat the Buffaloes 3-1.
- In Colorado State's second five-set match of the season last Friday against Colorado, Freshman Kate Yoshimoto dug up a career high 22 digs in the back row while maintaining a perfect serve-receive percentage.
- Outside hitters Malaya Jones and Kennedy Stanford were relied on heavily during the Rams' two-game series against Colorado as Jones totaled 35 kills over the two matches and Stanford totaled 34.
- The Colorado State volleyball program and Head Coach Tom Hilbert could both see milestones come on the home court this week as Hilbert is only one win away from 800 career wins while the program as a while is only two wins away from 1,000 program wins.
