USAF Academy, Colo. – The Colorado State volleyball teams remains unbeaten in the early Mountain West season as the Rams traveled down to the U.S. Air Force Academy for a matchup with the Falcons, leaving victorious by a score of 3-0.
Â
It was a quick night in Colorado Springs as the Rams controlled their third conference game of the season from start to finish. With defining runs in all three sets and Colorado State's ability to hit at a .356 team hitting percentage, the Rams fought past Air Force with set scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-17. Â
Â
Junior Kennedy Stanford served as the offensive go-to for the Rams yet again Thursday night as the outside hitter finished the night with 12 kills, hitting .632 and six kills from the backrow.
Â
Head Coach Tom Hilbert noted postgame that senior Ciera Pritchard played one of her best games of the season even though some of her contributions might not show up on the final box score. While the setter totaled 35 assists – which is  her-high for a three-set match – three service aces and three kills, Hilbert noted her "decision-making" was a huge part of the Rams' success.
Â
Other top contributors for the Rams included Annie Sullivan and Malaya Jones who finished with eight and seven kills respectively.
Â
Colorado State's defense was another bright spot in the Thursday night sweep as they held Air Force to a .172 hitting percentage on the night. While the Rams' only finished with four blocks on the night, defensive specialist Helena Perez and Ruby Kayser, alongside Libero Kate Yoshimoto combined for 15 digs and a perfect night in serve reception.
Â
Overall dominance of the Falcons skewed nearly every team statistic in favor of the Rams in order to send Colorado State to 10-4 and 3-0 in the Mountain West.
Â
The Rams will continue their road trip as they travel to New Mexico Saturday for a matchup with the Lobos. First serve is set for 1 p.m. from Albuquerque.
