GAME NOTES
  • Colorado State returns home this week for the annual State Pride game where they will take on Air Force. The Rams will don their State Pride uniforms which they unveiled in 2017.
  • Air Force is currently riding a six-game winning streak in the series and has won 14 of the last 16 meetings overall, dating back to 2006.
  • Colorado State and Air Force compete for the Ram-Falcon Trophy which was created in 1980 by former Colorado State ROTC commander Shelly Godkin. It is the second such trophy created by a former CSU ROTC commander (The Bronze Boot, Dan Romero) that Colorado State competes for.
  • The Falcons enter the contest ranked No. 19 in both major polls. It marks the ninth time Colorado State takes on a ranked Air Force team and the first since 2010. CSU is 1-7 in the previous ranked matchups.
  • Speaking of ranked matchups, the Rams are looking to snap a 25-game skid against ranked teams, dating back to No. 7 Colorado in 2002. It will also be the first time CSU has played a pair of ranked teams in the same season since 2011.
  • A win would give Colorado State its 4th victory at its earliest mark since 2017 when Colorado State moved to 4-2 on Oct. 7 with a win over Utah State.
  • Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi: No. 6 nationally in Passing Yards per Game (311.3) … Has tallied the most 300-yard passing games by a CSU freshman
  • Tory Horton: Ranks No. 8 nationally in Receiving Yards per Game (105.4) and No. 2 in Receptions per game (9.3) – both lead the MW.
  • Mohamed Kamara: No. 2 nationally in total sacks (10.5) and sacks per game (1.50) behind JMU's Jalen Green … Will move into a tie for 2nd in program history for a career with 0.5 more sacks … The career record stands at 33.0
  • Dallin Holker: Leads all tight ends nationally in Receiving Yards per Game (82.4), Receptions per Game (6.1), receiving yards (577) and receptions (43) … No. 2 in yards after catch and receiving touchdowns (6)
  • Team Offense: Currently the nation's fourth-most improved offense compared to 2022 … The passing offense is the second-most improved and scoring offense is No. 4 most-improved overall … They are also the most improved in sacks allowed … Defensively, the Rams are No. 21 nationally in sacks per game and No. 5 in turnovers gained
  • Ranked Team Notes: The Rams are looking to snap a 25-game losing streak to ranked teams dating back to August 31, 2002 when they beat No. 7 Colorado … only 44 players on the 2023 roster were alive on August 31, 2002 … The Rams are 1-7 all-time vs. ranked Air Force teams and last played a ranked Air Force team during the 2010 season.
