Rams Host Border War Before Trip to San Jose

Colorado State takes on split week both at home and on the road
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State volleyball team will continue its Mountain West conference play by hosting the Wyoming Cowgirls in the Mountain West Tuesday Night Block Party game in Moby Arena on Halloween night at 7 p.m. before making the trip to San Jose State to face the Spartans Thursday.

What You Need to Know
- Tuesday night's game will be a spooky Mountain West Tuesday Night Block Party and Halloween game. Fans who are unable to attend the game in costume are encouraged to stream the Block Party on Mountain West Network or the Mountain West app.
- This week's games will be the second time this season the Rams face off against both the Cowgirls and Spartans with Colorado State falling to Wyoming in four sets earlier this year before sweeping San Jose State at home.
- After Tuesday night, Ram fans will only have two more opportunities to watch the Rams in Moby Arena this season as Colorado State's final home weekend will be November 16 versus New Mexico and senior night November 18 against Air Force.
Scouting Wyoming and San Jose State
- After falling to Wyoming in round one of the Border War earlier this season in Laramie, the Rams will look to get revenge on the Cowgirls Tuesday night in Moby Arena.
- Wyoming currently sits eighth in the Mountain West standings at 5-7. As a team, the Cowgirls rank first in team blocks with 129 and third in team assists averaging 12.28 assists per set.
- Outside hitter Rylee Schulz ranks eighth in the conference for individual kills at 3.26 kills per set while setter Kasia Partyka ranks second in individual assists averaging 10.20 assists per set. Partyka and CSU's Emery Herman are the only two setters in the Mountain West averaging over 10 assists per set during conference play.
- The Rams swept San Jose State in their last matchup in Moby Arena and as Colorado State will travel to Spartan territory Thursday, San Jose State boasts a 3-9 conference record with a 12-13 overall record coming into the matchup.
- Â As a team, the Spartans rank in the bottom half of the league in every major stat category while they are averaging only a .157 team hitting percentage as well.
- Individually, middle blocker Jiana Lawson ranks fifth in the Mountain West in blocks per set with 1.16. Senior Letizia Cammillucci ranks sixth in the league in kills per set averaging 3.39 and libero Alessia Buffagni ranks fourth in the conference in digs averaging 3.46 per set.

Match Notes
- The Rams went 1-1 last week, falling to Utah State in five before sweeping Boise State Saturday afternoon, both in Moby Arena.
- Redshirt-junior Malaya Jones totaled 32 kills combined last weekend including a 22-kill match against Utah State last Thursday. Jones continues to rank third in the conference in kills, averaging 3.55 kills per set.
- Senior Kennedy Stanford totaled 15 kills in the three-set sweep over the Broncos Saturday, her highest average per set in a match this season. The outside hitter hit at a .583 average against Boise State while adding two service aces and 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
- Senior Emery Herman continues to lead the Mountain West in assists per set averaging 10.89, as the setter totaled 86 assists on the weekend. Herman now sits just 24 assists away from a 1,000-assist season and 13 assists from 4,000 career assists.
- Senior Naeemah Weathers totaled 18 kills on the weekend including 12 kills at a .556 hitting percentage Thursday night versus Utah State. The middle blocker remains ranked second in the conference in hitting percentage at .420 on the season while she added eight block assists across the two games as well.
- Libero Kate Yoshimoto led Colorado State's defense with 27 total digs on the weekend including 12 in just three sets against the Broncos. The Rams also boasted a perfect serve-reception percentage against Boise State Saturday afternoon.
