GAME NOTES
- Colorado State closes out the home portion of the regular season schedule on Saturday when they host Nevada. The Rams are set to recognize nine seniors prior to the game, though determinations on the ability to return next season are still to be determined.
- A win on Saturday would give Colorado State a fourth home win the season and securing the first home winning season in Canvas Stadium since its debut season in 2017.
- It would also give Colorado State its second win during the month of November for the first time since 2016 when the Rams went 3-1.
- A victory would also give Colorado State its 5th win of the season, the most since that 2017 campaign (7-6), and keep the Rams alive for bowl contention for another week.
- Sticking with the trend, the Rams are looking for consecutive home wins for the first time since the first two home games of the 2016 season.
- Colorado State last won a conference championship 21 seasons ago this year. That 2002 team won the third title in four seasons under coach Sonny Lubick, a four-year run that included a combined record of 35-15.
- The roster has undergone a radical transformation in just one full season under Norvell and his coaching staff. Of the 112 players currently on the roster, just 19 have been at Colorado State since 2021 or earlier. Of those 19, just 12 were scholarship signees. There are 56 overall newcomers on the 2023 roster including 45 new scholarship players.
- Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi: No. 12 nationally in Passing Yards per Game (289.8) … Has tallied the most 300-yard passing games by a CSU freshman … Broke the freshman passing yardage record at Wyoming, surpassing Pete Thomas' 2010 mark of 2,662 yards … Conversely, tied for the FBS lead with 14 interceptions (Georgia Tech's Haynes King)
- Tory Horton: Ranks No. 19 nationally in Receiving Yards per Game (87.2) and No. 3 in Receptions per game (8.1) … Needs 128 yards to reach 1,000 in consecutive seasons
- Mohamed Kamara: No. 4 nationally in total sacks (11.5) and sacks per game (1.15) … Moved into 2nd on the program's all-time career sacks list (29.0) … The career record stands at 33.0
- Dallin Holker: Leads all tight ends nationally in Receptions per Game (5.7), receiving yards (710), and receptions (57) … No. 2 in yards after catch, receiving touchdowns (6), and receiving yards per game (71.0) … Named a Mackey Award Semifinalist last week
- Jack Howell: Ranks No. 4 nationally in total tackles (94) among defensive backs and leads the Mountain West's defensive backs … No. 2 in total tackles in the MW overall … No. 22 nationally in tackles per game (9.40) … Has the chance to eclipse 100 tackles in consecutive seasons with two regular season games remaining … Would be the first CSU DB since defensive stats became official in 2000 to post consecutive – and multiple – 100-tackle seasons
