Lesnar breaks Colorado State Universityβs record for indoor womenβs shot put
GOLDEN, Colo. βΒ The Colorado State track and field team finished the first day of the Mines Alumni Classic on a high note and the Rams look to carry their momentum into day two.Β Β

Junior Mya Lesnar delivered a standout performance on the opening night of the indoor season. Lesnar broke the school record for indoor women's shot put with a mark of 18.50m. Her previous personal best was a distance of 17.17m and a fifth place spot in Colorado State's record book. This record was previously held by current senior Gabi Morris who accomplished a mark of 17.55m last season.Β

Michaela Hawkins placed second in women's shot put with an impressive 15.74m, breaking her previous personal record of 15.24m.

Redshirt freshman, Kyle Bigley made an impression by placing first in men's shot put with a mark of 18.22m. Following closely behind was Mariano Kis in second place achieving a measurement of 18.18m.Β

Stealing the show in long jump, sophomores Ismael Dembele and Jo-Anna Pinnock both placed second. For the men, Dembele recorded a distance of 7.37m and for the women, Pinnock established a distance of 6.04m.
