CSU hosts BYU, travels to Denver for Brown

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – After a successful weekend of duals, the Rams are staying local to play two more.

Colorado State women's tennis is back at home this Saturday, where its hosts BYU at 2 p.m. at the Fort Collins Country Club. There will be live stats and live coverage available for this event. On Monday, the Rams will face Brown at 12:30 p.m., at Denver Tennis Park.

"We are looking forward to hosting two solid teams," CSU coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "We expect these matches to be very close and competitive."

The last time the Rams saw BYU was in 2011, a meeting the Cougars won 6-1. This is the first time Tran's squad will face them. Monday marks the program's debut against Brown. BYU is 3-1 on the year, coming off a weekend split where the Cougars lost to Loyola Marymount and beat Utah State. Brown is 6-1 as the Bulldogs are riding a five-dual win streak.

"Our team is feeling good about how they're playing, and we are excited about the upcoming tests," Tran said. "We will lay it all out there and look to end up on top."

This past weekend the Rams beat Nebraska 7-0, snapping the program's longest losing streaks. Sarah Weekley solidified the victory with her singles win at the No. 1 spot. The following day, CSU defeated South Dakota 4-0 with strong action in both doubles and singles.

"We've been looking at our practice, preparation, and competitions as a chance to be uncomfortable and challenged," Tran said. "Ultimately, these tough non-conference matches will prepare us for our conference season."
