Seniors Power Rams Back to the Win Column

John Tonje and Isaiah Stevens combined for 41 points Tuesday night
USAFA – Seniors Isaiah Stevens and John Tonje combined for 41 points as Colorado State returned to the win column with a 69-53 victory at Air Force Tuesday night.
The duo was at it all night long scoring 21 of their 41 in the first half and combining to shoot 66.7% from the field for the game.
Neither team led by more than two possessions throughout the first half as Colorado State closed it on a 7-0 run to take the 32-26 lead to the locker room.
In the second half, CSU tightened down on defense and heated up on offense to pull away from the Falcons. CSU held Air Force to 34.6% shooting in the second half while making 57.7%.
It was defeat by 1,000 papercuts as CSU stacked 5-0 and 6-0 runs on top of each other with Air Force only able to make a basket to stop the runs from growing.
The Rams built their lead to 16 by the 12-minute mark thanks to a Joe Palmer three and put it on cruise control from there.
CSU controlled the game in multiple ways winning the rebounding battle 31-23, the paint battle 42-20 and the turnover battle 12-8.
Colorado State now has a week off before returning to action against Boise State on Wednesday, February 15 against Boise State for Retro Night. Tip-off inside Moby Arena is set for 8 pm.
