Team to face host Huskers and South Dakota

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Coming off a rousing victory in their home opener, Rams head east this weekend for a pair of duals.

Colorado State women's tennis is heading to Lincoln, Neb. to play the Cornhuskers at 4 p.m. on Friday and the South Dakota Coyotes at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be held at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center. There will be live stats and live coverage available for this event.

"We are looking forward to facing a good Nebraska team and also a familiar South Dakota team as well," head coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "Nebraska has always come out strong and it's a great opportunity and test for us."

This season, the Huskers are 4-0 overall and the Coyotes are 1-3. The last time the Rams faced both teams, they fell 0-4 to Nebraska and came out with a win against South Dakota 4-0. The Rams' head-to-head historical record with the Coyotes is 5-1.

"I believe our team has made some big strides from the last week of practice and from our last match," Tran said. "Winning against a good team definitely builds up our confidence."

In the home opener, the Rams delivered a clutch win against San Francisco with the final two matches being three-set wins to clinch the victory.

"This week we are focusing on small improvements in each of our games," Tran said. "It will be a great accomplishment to come out with a couple of wins this weekend while keeping our main focus in mind, continuing to get better for the rest of the season."
