Rams Host Lobos for Senior Night

Colorado State celebrates its four graduating seniors Friday night
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The final home game of the 2022-23 season means Senior Night for CSU men's basketball. The program will celebrate its four graduating seniors Isaiah Stevens, John Tonje, James Moors and Nick Bassett prior to Friday's 9 pm tipoff against New Mexico. Â
Opening Tip
- CSU had an off night offensively shooting just 365% in a 63-46 loss to San Jose State.
- Colorado State will celebrate its four graduating seniors Nick Bassett, James Moors, Isaiah Stevens and John Tonje prior to Friday's game.
- Patrick Cartier led the Rams in scoring on Tuesday with 17 points of 7-of-11 shooting. He also tied for the team lead in rebounds with six.
- Stevens was the only other Ram to reach double figures with 10 points.
- Cartier and Tonje have career scoring milestones within their sights. Cartier is five points away from 2,000 for his career while Tonje is 10 away from 1,000.
- Stevens leads the Mountain West in assists (6.5) and assists-to-turnover ratio (3.06) to rank fifth and ninth in the nation, respectively. He is also 64th in the nation and third in the conference for scoring with 18.0 points per game.
- Colorado State ranks in the top 15 nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.50, 15th), assists (16.7, 12th), effective field goal percentage (56.0%, 15th) and field goal percentage (49.0%, 12th).
- New Mexico ended a two-game losing streak with a win over Fresno State on Tuesday 94-80.
- The Lobos will be playing for a bye in the Mountain West Tournament. They would have to win Friday and have San Jose State lose on Saturday.
- New Mexico won the first match-up between the two teams inside The Pit 88-69 with a big shooting night.

Scouting the Lobos
In his second year at New Mexico, Richard Pitino has moved the Lobos from the bottom of the Mountain West to fighting for a bye in next week's tournament. UNM went undefeated in non-conference play but has hit a hard time recently winning just two of their past eight games.
The Lobos can fill up the basket and fast averaging 81.1 points per game that leads the conference and ranking 15th in the nation.
They possess a three-headed monster of Jamal Mashburn Jr, Jaelen House and Morris Udeze who are all scoring over 16.0 points per game. Mashburn leads the team and MWC with 19.4 points per game.

It's off to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Rams first round opponent and time will be determined after Saturday.
