Colorado State has successful day two in California

AZUNA, Calif. – Coming off a stellar indoor season, the reigning Mountain West Indoor 5K and 3K champions Sarah Carter is continuing her dominance into the outdoor season.

With the Rams distance team competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azuna Pacific, Carter broke the outdoor school record in the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:53.06 seconds, four seconds under the previous record.

She now holds the school records in the women's indoor 5K, indoor 3K and outdoor 5K.

At the Long Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State, Mya Lesnar had a career best day in the women's hammer throw as the sophomore threw a mark of 63.50 meters good for a personal best mark and a top twenty throw in the country so far this season. She placed third overall in the event.

Senior Jackson Morris finished seventh overall in the men's javelin throw with a mark of 69.68 meters. Morris looks to keep momentum on his side after breaking the school record in the javelin throw two weekends ago with a throw of 74.27 meters.

Freshman pole vaulter Olivia Bollenbacher also had a successful day two as she finished fifth overall in the women's pole vault clearing 3.77 meters which is an outdoor career best and just under her overall career best of 3.80 which she cleared at the Indoor Mountain West Championships earlier this year.

The Rams will finish competition tomorrow at the Long Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State.
