Rams Distance Runners Compete at Colorado School of Mines

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado State track and field team competed Friday morning at the Colorado School of Mines ss the Rams decided to take a smaller group of athletes down to the altered Mines Mini Meat after the original two-day format was altered to a one-day meet by the Orediggers' staff due to impending weather.

Two Rams notched first place finishes, including Anna Petr who placed first in the women's 1500 meter run with a time of 4:43.29 second.

Teammate Kealan McNally also placed first with a personal best run in the women's 5K as the freshman finished with a time of 17:51.66 seconds followed closely behind by fellow freshmen Isabella Prosceno with a time of 18:05.94 seconds.

Senior Sydney Peterson was the sole ram to run in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase as she placed second in the event with a time of 11:20.00 seconds.

On the men's side of things, Lars Mitchell got the day started out with a seventh place finish in the men's 10K with a time of 30:35.16 second followed closely behind by teammates Brock Dykema and Noah Bodewes who both placed 10th and 12th respectively.

The rest of the Rams track and field team will compete in the newest addition to the outdoor schedule, the Fum McGraw Power Meet hosted at the Jack Christiansen Memorial Track Sunday, April 23rd, starting at 9 a.m. The Colorado State track and field coaching staff decided to add this home meet to their schedule in order to maximize opportunities for their athletes to compete as the outdoor and track and field season as a whole nears its completion.
