Colorado State Set to Compete at Northern Colorado

Rams multi group to travel to Stanislaus State Multi
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State Track and Field team will compete in its third weekend of the outdoor season this weekend as the Rams travel to Northern Colorado for the Tom Benich Invitational April 8. A small group of Ram multi athletes will also compete in the Stanislaus State Multi Meet April 6-7 in Turlock, California.

Seven Rams will start the meet week in California as Sharde Johnson, Tatum Bailey and Cierra Gonzales compete in the women's heptathlon while Drew Thompson, Elijah Scott, Cam Collins and Mateo Munoz all compete in the men's decathlon Thursday and Friday at the Stanislaus State Multi Meet.

The heptathlon will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with the 100-meter hurdles. The decathlon will start shortly after with the 100-meter dash at 12 p.m. The women will compete in four events Thursday and three events Friday with the men taking on five events each day.

The Tom Benich Invitational will kick off Saturday morning with the men's pole vault and the women's 5,000-meter run both starting at 9 a.m. Top Rams to be on the lookout for at Northern Colorado Saturday include all four athletes that broke a school record last weekend at the Jack Christiansen Invitational.

Annabel Stafford will be the first of the record breakers to compete as the senior broke the school record in the women's 10K run last weekend at the Stanford Invitational. Jackson Morris will compete in the men's javelin at 12:30 p.m. with Allam Bushara and Jo-Anna Pinnock both competing in the triple jump event. Bushara will jump first in the men's flights followed by Pinnock in the women's competition. Â
