Colorado State Wraps Up Stanislaus State Multi

Five Rams complete first collegiate outdoor multi
TURLOCK, Calif. – Day two of the Stanislaus State Multi Meet ended with seven Rams completing their first multi of the outdoor season Friday afternoon.

Headlining the Rams was seniors Sharde Johnson and Drew Thompson who both placed second in their respective multi's with Johnson completing her first collegiate heptathlon and Thompson setting a personal best decathlon score with 6,769 points. Johnson finished the heptathlon with 4,793 points with personal best marks in the javelin throw and 800-meter run in day two.

Following close behind in the decathlon was sophomore Elijah Scott who also finished with a personal best score of 6,533 points. Scott placed sixth while recording a personal best time in the 100-meter hurdles.

The heptathlon rounded out with Cierra Gonzalez and Tatum Bailey placing sixth and seventh respectively. Both freshman completed their first collegiate heptathlons with Gonzalez setting personal records in the long jump and Bailey setting a personal best time in the 800-meter run.

One the men's side, Mateo Munoz and Cameron Collins finished eighth and nineth respectively in the decathlon with Munoz matching a career best clearance of 4.40 meters in the pole vault while Collins notched personal records in both the discus throw and pole vault.

The group of multi's will return to Fort Collins with their eyes set on cheering on their fellow teammates as the rest of the Colorado State Track and Field team competes at the Tom Benich Invitational all day Saturday at Northern Colorado. The first events of the meet begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.
