Colorado State boasts successful day at Tom Benich Invitational

GREELEY, Colo. –  The Colorado State track and field team wrapped up competition at the Tom Benich Invitational hosted by Northern Colorado Saturday afternoon as the Rams completed their third weekend of the outdoor season.
 
Headlining the Rams Saturday afternoon were four athletes who finished in the top three of their respected event while recording personal best times and marks.
 
Sophomore Cole Nordman medaled in two different events, including winning the men's 110-meter hurdles and placing second in the men's 200 meter. Nordman recorded a personal record time of 14.27 seconds in the men's 110-meter hurdles, good for the third best time in the conference so far this season.
 
Freshman Colton Kaase also recorded a personal best time in a hurdles event, this time the men's 400-meter hurdles as Kaase placed second with a time of 54.55 seconds.
 
In Saturday's field events, Michaela Hawkins threw a mark of 52.36 meters in the women's hammer throw, good for the best mark of her career and a third-place finish in the event.
 
Back on the track, sophomore Paul Agbo placed third in the men's 100 meter dash with a personal best time of 10.81 seconds.
 
The Rams also boasted five first place finishes on the day. In addition to Nordman's first place finish in the men's 110-meter hurdles, Sierra Haberman placed first in the women's high jump, Gabi McDonald placed first in the woman's shot put and discus while Mya Lesnar placed first in the woman's hammer throw.
