FORT COLLINS – Presented the opportunity to face some of the top players in the nation, Colorado State's women's tennis team will divide the roster with four players attending the ITA All-American Championships with play beginning on Saturday and extending through the main draw finishing on Oct. 8 in Cary, N.C.
Â
Colorado State will send Radka Buzkova (singles and doubles), Victoria Erechtchenko, Sarka Richterova and Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya to the prestigious event, all earning invites based on previous results. Buzkova is entered in the qualifying draw for singles, with play beginning Oct. 2; she will play doubles with Erechtchenko, while Richterova and Zhadzinskaya will team up, both in the pre-qualifying draw. Play for those rounds begins Sept. 30.
Â
"We are proud of our players for qualifying for the ITA All American Championships," CSU head coach Mai-Ly Tran said. Â "The tournament accepts only the top players in the country, and we feel honored to have the opportunity to play and represent CSU for the second year in a row. Â Our players look forward to competing in this prestigious event each year. Â The experience shows us we can compete at the highest level of college tennis and pushes us to keep getting better each day."
Â
Assistant coach Pavel Zinchenko will attend the tournament with the players, while the rest of team remains at home for the Jon Messick Invitational, which runs Friday through Sunday at the CSU Tennis Complex. The tournament will have live streaming of the event.
