Colorado State feels good about its performances so far

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Colorado State tennis will be competing in the ITA Mountain Regional Championships hosted by New Mexico State. The tournament will take place Oct. 17-22 and winners will qualify for NCAA Championship.

There will be a live stream available, and draws can be seen on the tournament website.

In past years, the regional champions went on to compete in the ITA National Fall Championships, so this is the first year where the two singles finalists and doubles champion will compete at the NCAA Fall Championships instead.

"There is a unique opportunity for this tournament in terms of qualifying for NCAAs but that is not our main focus," coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "Our focus is to prepare and put ourselves in the best position to play well this week."

The Rams had 12 days of practice since their last tournament. This fall they have won one official title and two unofficial titles. The team wants to use the remaining tournaments this fall to keep improving and preparing themselves for the spring season.

At the Mountain West Individuals, the doubles team of Victoria Erechtchenko and Sarah Weekley reached the championship match in the only tournament they have been paired. Individually, Logan Voeks stands at 6-1, with Mariya Dobreva posting a 5-2 record, Paisha Douglas 4-2.
