Rams Remain Unbeaten in Conference

A week full of wins
RENOÂ - Colorado State women's soccer team found their sixth win in conference play on Sunday afternoon in a 1-0 road victory over Nevada.Â
Despite the scoreless halftime, the Rams had several chances to take the lead in the first half, specifically with Liv Stutzman's shot on goal just three minutes into the match. Over the first 45 minutes, Colorado State managed seven shots, two of which were on target, while its defense limited the Wolf Pack to only two shots, none of which were on goal. Overall, although the first half was fairly balanced, the Rams left the field with more opportunities but no goals to show for their efforts.Â
In addition to Stutzman's early opportunity, Mia Casey was a promising force with a shot on target in the 28th minute with a Nevada's GK sliding save. Seven minutes later, Casey took another long range shot from midfield that caught the crossbar.Â
With the second half of the Rams keeping majority possession in the Nevada defensive third, they finally found their way to take the lead in the 68th minute. Avery Vander Ven found her third goal of the season off a combined effort from Olivia Fout and Katy Coffin. Vander Ven's goal secured the win for the Rams, to remain unbeaten in conference.
Colorado State (10-3-3, 6-0-2 MW) ran its unbeaten streak to nine straight, ending Nevada's unbeaten streak.Â
The Rams were able to outshoot their opponent once again with a total of 13 shots on the afternoon, six of those on goal. With a dominating second half and an action packed five last minutes of the game Nevada trying to find the equalizer, Libby Brooker was able to secure the seventh shutout of the season, she had three saves.Â
