CSU prepares for two more week of regular season play

FORT COLLINS – The pursuit has changed, and yet remained the same.

Colorado State's women's soccer team has clinched a berth in the Mountain West Tournament and now sets the target for what would be a first-ever conference championship with a pair of matches this weekend. The Rams, 10-3-3 overall, 6-0-2 in conference and tied with Boise State at the top, begins the week with a home match against New Mexico before hitting the road to face San Diego State.

New Mexico's match takes place on Thursday at 7 p.m., and then the Rams take a trip for Sunday's match against San Diego State at 1 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.

Colorado State is coming off a two-win week in Nevada, topping UNLV 2-1 and Nevada 1-0. Having secured a spot in the tournament, hosted by San Diego State Nov. 3-9, the team's remaining three contests will determine seeding, with the top two earning a first-round bye in the six-team field.

  • Mia Casey recorded her seventh assist of the season bringing her to second in a single season for assists. Her 25 career points ties her for sixth all time.
