RAM TALK
  • The Week That Was: A trio of games rounded out the final week of non-conference play for Colorado State, beginning with a dominant 70-52 win over UTEP in which the Rams led 23-5 after the first quarter. CSU then traveled to the San Diego Classic and opened play with a win over Georgia - the first SEC win for the program since 1998 - before falling to a tough Stephen F. Austin team that ranks 55th in the latest NET rankings.
  • Protect The Rock: The Rams do a lot of good things, but one of their secrets to success is actually something they DON'T do: Turn the ball over. The Rams have led the nation in fewest turnovers per game in each of the last two seasons, coughing it up only 9.1 times per game in 2023-24. Despite the new-look roster, that trait has passed down to this year's squad as the Rams are giving up an average of just 8.8 turnovers through 10 games, which leads the country once again. The Green and Gold are one of just two teams in Division I to average less than 10 turnovers per game, and no other team in the MW is averaging less than 12.
  • Week of Dominance: Named the Mountain West Co-Preseason Player of the Year, Emma Ronsiek proved once again that she is one of the top players in the conference this past week as she became the first player this season to be named the league's player of the week for a second time. The forward put her versatility on full display this week by averaging 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals in three games, all while shooting 48.7% from the field, 40.0% from 3-point range and 90.0% from the free-throw line. Ronsiek's best performance of the week came in Colorado State's win over Georgia as she logged a game-high 24 points on 9-for-13 (69.2%) shooting to go with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
  • 60's The Limit: Colorado State has been one of the better defensive teams in the Mountain West, holding opponents to just 34.9% shooting from the field (First in MW) and are holding teams to just 58.2 points per game (Third in the MW). 60 has been the target number for the Rams defensively as eight of their nine wins this season have come when holding their opponents below that number.
  • Net Positive: Colorado State enters conference play with a NET ranking of 93, making it one of three Mountain West Schools to be ranked in the top 100: UNLV (51), San Diego State (88).
  • One of One: Emma Ronsiek has been one of the most well-rounded players in the Mountain West this season with her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Ronsiek is currently the only player in the league to average at least 15.0 points (17.5), 5.5 rebounds (5.5) and 3.0 assists (3.4), and leads Colorado State in each of those categories. At the national level, Ronsiek is the only player to be leading her team (including ties) in rebounds, assists, free throws made, 3-point field goals made and 2-point field goals made.
  • Sisters Are Serving: Sisters Emma and Hannah Ronsiek have lived up to the hype of their reunion thus far as they have been the Rams' top-two scorers and rebounders this season. Emma is scoring 17.5 points to go with 5.5 boards per game while also leading the team in assists (3.4 per), meanwhile Hannah is averaging 9.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and leads the Rams in steals (1.4).

SCOUTING REPORT
  • The Utah State Aggies: It hasn't been an ideal start to the season for the Aggies who wrapped up non-conference play with a 1-11 record. However, the Aggies play with great balance and have four players averaging over nine points. The Rams will look to apply pressure on the Aggies as they average the most turnovers per game in the conference with 20.4.
