Colorado State earns nine to All-Conference teams

FORT COLLINS – For the first time since 2017, Colorado State has an offensive lineman named to the first-team All-Mountain West team. Jacob Gardner, who is on the Rimington Trophy Watch List and the top center in nation was named to the first-team all-conference team the league announced Tuesday.

Gardner is set to make his 58th start of his career in the Rams' future bowl game – starting every game he has played. The veteran earned honorable mention his first season in Fort Collins and second team honors a season ago. The three-year captain will cap his collegiate career as the only five-time All-Mountain West player in league history.

The Rams had three others named to the second-team, offensive guard Drew Moss and linebackers Buom Jock and Chase Wilson.

Colorado State's front is tied for fourth in the country in sacks allowed, having just 10 sacks this season. Since the first year under Norvell and allowing the most sacks in the country, the M.O.B. has been fully transformed, finishing the past two seasons in the top 10 in the nation.

Jock and Wilson anchored the Rams' defense, both leading the team in tackles and in the top 10 in the league. CSU's defense led the conference in scoring defense, holding Mountain West opponents under 20 points per contest.

Wilson was named to the 2024 preseason list after earning second-team honors in 2023. Moss also was named honorable mention after the 2023 season.

Henry Blackburn, Dom Jones, Aaron Karas, Gabe Kirschke and Avery Morrow were honorable mention selections.
