Rams to Open Outdoor Season in Los Angeles

Colorado State to travel to California to compete in the Trojan Invitational
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State track and field team will participate in its first outdoor meet of the season in Los Angeles, California, at the Trojan Invitational this upcoming Friday and Saturday. The first scheduled meet of the season was to take place in Boulder, Colo., last week but was canceled due to weather.

What you need to know:
- The Trojan Invitational is hosted by the University of Southern California and will take place over Friday and Saturday.
- Friday's field events will be at the South Bay Throws Facility, starting at 11 a.m. with the men's discus throw. Women's discus throw and both the men's and women's hammer throw will follow.
- Saturday's field events will start at 11 a.m. at the Loker Track with the women's long jump, pole vault, shot put and the men's long jump. Track events will start at 11:45 a.m. with the men's 3K steeple chase.Â

Meet Notes:
- The Rams are coming off a high as both the men's and women's teams won the 2024 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships. They acquired a total of 275 points, 22 medals and two Mountain West trophies.
- Throwers Mya Lesnar and Mariano Kis received the Most Outstanding Field Performer award and head coach Brian Bedard received the Mountain West Men's & Women's Coach of the Year.
- Mya Lesnar and Gabi Morris both traveled to Boston, Massachusetts, to compete in the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships where Lesnar brought home the first women's indoor national championship in Colorado State Track and Field history with her performance of 18.53 meters in shot put. Lesnar was also named First-Team All-American.
- Gabi Morris placed 13th in shot put with a mark of 16.25 meters. She was named Second-Team All-American.
- The Rams will travel 44 athletes this weekend in total.
