Rams Fall to Nevada

Buzkova/Zhadzinskaya remain unbeaten in conference play
RENO, Nev. – Trying to build off momentum gained at home, the road has been a tough haul for the team this season.

Colorado State's women's tennis team fell to Nevada 4-1 on Friday at the McArthur Tennis Center, where the host Wolf Pack remains unbeaten on the season. The Rams now stand at 7-7 in duals, 3-2 in Mountain West play. While they've had success at home (6-2), the road has been unforgiving with a 1-5 mark. They'll get an immediate chance to bounce back with a match Saturday at Pacific (11 a.m. MT).

Despite Radka Buzkova and Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya remaining undefeated in conference doubles play at the top spot, Nevada took the doubles point, then proceeded to capture the win with a trio of singles wins, two coming in straight sets at the Nos. 2 and 6 spots. They clinched the match with a win at No. 3 as Lou-Anne Guerbert beat Luana Avelar 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Colorado State's point came from Sarah Weekley, who prevailed at No. 4 over Anastasia Luneva, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. The two matches which didn't finish were both in the third set, with Rams winning the first set in both.

Buzkova and Zhadzinskaya, paired together in the spring, have gone 8-3 in duals, winning all five decisions in conference play. The posted a 6-4 decision against the Wolf Pack's Amahee Charrier and Luneva.
