Rams Round Out Bryan Clay and Long Beach Invites

Colorado State caps off strong weekend in California
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Colorado State track and field team finished out its time in California at the Long Beach ann Bryan Clay Invitationals all day Saturday.

Highlights from the Bryan Clay Invite include Quinn McConnell and Yasmin Austridge both running under the school record time in the women's 1500 meter run. McConnell will be the new record holder with a time of 4:20.07 seconds while Austridge will move up to second in CSU history with a time of 4:21.20 seconds. The time to beat for both of them was 4:21.76 set by Lauren Offerman in 2022.

In Long Beach, Cole Nordman placed ninth in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.36 seconds. He was followed by teammates Dominic Gallelli in 20th (14.74), PJ Robinson in 22nd (14.75), Carsen Bruns in 29th (14.99) and Jack Wetterling in 36th(16.11).

Gallelli and Wetterling also participated in the 400-meter hurdles earning 14th (52.94) and 25th (53.81). On the women's side, Makayla Williams finished 21st (1:01.80).

CSU sprinter Kenny Carpenter placed 31st in the men's 400 dash with 48.08 seconds.Tyler Colwell placed 34th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.75 seconds. Rondisia Williams placed 20th in the women's 100-meter dash with 12.01 seconds. She was followed by teammate Abigail Groleau in 69th (12.36 seconds).Â

Kyle Dempsey placed 61st in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.98 seconds. On the women's side, Rondisia Williams finished 24th (24.55).

In the women's 4x400 Relay, Grace Gordon, Makayla Williams, Sadie Tunnell, and Neya Jamison finished 27th with 3:57.39. In the men's 4x100 Relay, Carsen Bruns, Cole Nordman, Tyler Colwell and Kyle Dempsey placed sixth, running a time of 40.66 seconds.Â

Mya Lesnar led the women in shot put at the Long Beach Invite with a mark of 18.41 meters. The mark was good for a career-best performance in the outdoor shot put. Lesnar was followed by teammate Gabi Morris who achieved a distance of 16.54 meters. Morris also finished fourth in discus with a throw of 55.05 meters.

Gaining another career-best was Michaela Hawkins in the discus throw with 61.24 meters where she placed first. Also in discus, Klaire Kovatch placed 10th (51.63m) and Kajsa Borrman finished 16th with (48.58m).

Jo-Anna Pinnock also achieved a new outdoor PR in the women's long jump where she placed ninth with a distance of 6.02 meters. She followed Taye Holker who scored a mark of 6.17m and a fifth-place finish. Pinnock also placed sixth in triple jump (12.57m).Â

On the men's side at the Long Beach Invite, Kyle Bigley placed eighth in shot put marking 17.94m. He also placed 27thin discus (52.10m). That mark was followed by Mariano Kis who finished 22nd with a distance of 53.20m. Kis and Bigley were followed by Max Christenberry in 43rd (50.66m). Kis also finished 38th in the hammer throw with 55.83 meters.

Ismael Dembele finished ninth in the triple jump, achieving a distance of 15.16 meters. In the men's high jump, Rhys Travis, Ryan Blake and Hari Brogan tied for 12th clearing a height of 1.96m.Â

Drew Thompson finished 21st in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 57.62.
